Town of Plum Lake will be accepting bids for road repairs for a portion of Nixon Lake Road in Star Lake, which will include ditching and gravel work. Project is to be completed by June 1, 2024. The Town of Plum Lake reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids. This project is contingent upon the Town receiving funding from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. The primary items of work under this contract consists of stripping shoulders, removing rocks, constructing ditches with breaker run stone, installing ditch check flumes, and furnishing and placing crushed aggregate base course. The work shall be executed under the requirements of the State of Wisconsin, Department of Transportation, Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, Edition of 2020, and according to the current year State of Wisconsin supplemental specifications and the special provision specifications attached. The Town is responsible for locating and relocating property boundaries and right of way. The Town is responsible for moving or relocating utilities if required. The contractor is responsible for contacting Diggers Hotline. Crushed aggregate base course shall meet current WISDOT %", 1-1/4", or 1996 WISDOT Grade 2 specifications. Gravel if measured by the cubic yard will be based upon truck measure, or by the ton if specified. FINAL GRADING- When final grading the roadway the contractor is required to add water to the existing base course to bring roadway to optimum moisture content. It is required that the roadway be compacted with a vibratory roller. It is required that the contractor review the roads and work to be completed with a Town Representative prior to bidding, so both parties have a clear understanding of the work to be completed under this proposal.
