Duration/Completion: Project Complete ready for use, No Later Than, 1/26/2024. Inquiries: All inquiries shall be sent to: kaitee.thomason@pnnl.gov The successful contractor shall provide materials (except those that are Battelle furnished), labor, equipment, supervision, and inspection necessary to successfully accomplish the Scope of Work (SOW) as described/depicted on the contract drawings and specifications outlined in section A-2, paragraph 1 below. In general, the SOW includes selective demolition in Bldg. 3410, Lab 1606, including the removal of existing casework, reuse of existing electrical circuits, removal of existing IT network jacks and reconfiguration of the existing exhaust duct, and the subsequent installation of Battelle Furnished Contractor Installed (BFCI) Fume Hood and associated Flam/Acid Base Cabinet. The SOW also includes the connection of the fume hood to existing electrical circuits, the installation of new Stainless Steel (SST) duct work, and the routing and connection of the SST duct to existing equipment on the second floor (requires a concrete core drill through 2nd floor concrete deck). The contractor shall also supply and install a 36" Under Fume Hood Flammable Safety cabinet and a 36" Under Fume Hood Corrosives/Acids Safety Cabinet. Note: The contractor is responsible for retrieving the BFCI Fume Hood from a Conex container located adjacent to the LSW and transporting it to Bldg. 3410 for installation. The Contractor shall be required to (a) commence Work under this Contract As Soon As Possible after the date the Contractor receives the Notice to Proceed, (b) prosecute the Work diligently, and (c) entire Work ready for use no later than 1/26/2024. It is anticipated that the successful contractor will receive the Award on or around October 25, 2023. Bid Guarantee [Adapted from FAR 52.228-1 (Sept 1996)] (a) Failure to furnish a bid guarantee in the proper form and amount, by the time set for opening of bids, may be cause for rejection of the bid. (b) The Proposer shall furnish a bid guarantee in the form of a firm commitment, e.g., bid bond supported by good and sufficient surety or sureties acceptable to Battelle, postal money order, certified check, cashier's check, or irrevocable letter of credit. Battelle will return bid guarantees, other than bid bonds-- (a) To unsuccessful Bidders as soon as practicable after the opening of bids; and (b) To the successful Bidder upon execution of Contractual documents and bonds (including any necessary coinsurance or reinsurance agreements), as required by the bid as accepted. (c) The amount of the bid guarantee shall be 20% percent of the bid price or $3,000,000, whichever is less. (d) If the successful Bidder, upon acceptance of its bid by Battelle within the period specified for acceptance, fails to execute all Contractual documents or furnish executed bond(s) within 10 days after receipt of the forms by the Bidder, Battelle may terminate the Contract for default. (e) In the event the Contract is terminated for default, the Bidder is liable for any cost of acquiring the Work that exceeds the amount of its bid, and the bid guarantee is available to offset the difference.
