Estimated cost is between $5-$10 million. TAXIWAY A RECONSTRUCTION AND TAXIWAY A3 REALIGNMENT. This project generally consists of demolishing existing pavement, reconstructing most of Taxiway A with portions of multiple connector taxiways. Also included is a new portion of Taxiway A (realignment) between existing Taxiways A3 and B3. Finally, an asphalt overlay for the section of Taxiway A between Runway 2-20 and Taxiway A4. Related work includes demolition, grading, drainage and safety area improvements as well as new taxiway edge lighting and related signage. The anticipated construction time is 138 consecutive calendar days. The Unified Government of Athens-Clarke County reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any technicalities or irregularities, and to award the bid based on the highest and best interest of the Unified Government of Athens-Clarke County. Disadvantaged Business Enterprises participation 49 CFR Part 26. The DBE participation goal is 8.62%. BONDING REQUIREMENTS: An original Bid Bond for 5% of the total bid must be submitted with the bid. Performance and Payment Bonds in the amount of 100% of the contract price will be required if contract is awarded.
