Demolition and Land Clearing The City of Charlestons Department of Housing and Community Development is requesting proposals for the demolition of a CMU block foundation wall and land clearing of a residential lot located at 52 Kennedy Street, on the west side of the Charleston, SC peninsula. The City of Charleston has the right to refuse any or all bids at its own discretion. 1) Submit a work plan for the steps you will implement to safely clear the property. Identify all worker safety issues present at the site, steps to handle those issues, and equipment to be utilized in performance of the work. 2) Submit a letter describing previous experience performing this type of work. Letter should include specific information to indicate that you have visited the worksite. 3) Include a Certificate of insurance for Comprehensive Liability Insurance and Workers Compensation coverage. Performance requirements include the following: 1. Demolition includes removal of the concrete footings of the existing foundation. 2. Contractor must place approved erosion control measures in place prior to the start of work. 3. Land clearing includes complete removal and disposal of all trees, stumps, roots, vegetation, and other debris from the lot area. No burning allowed. No large or grand trees are present on this site. 4. Following demolition and land clearing, the site must be completely clear of debris and level rough graded. Contractors are required to provide appropriate business credentials
