The GSS shall report to the Project Manager and Contract Administrator and shall liaise with representatives of the CA team, MTO Operations Office, MTO Structural Section, Design Consultant, Contractor and Sub-contractors. The Contract Administrator shall be responsible for issuing related instructions to the Contractor. The Gss Shall Be a Professional Engineer Licensed to Practice in the Province of Ontario Working Under a Valid Certificate of Authorization Issued by Peo With a Minimum Five Years of Experience in the Field of Bridge Engineering Design & Construction and Possess a Minimum of Five Years of Demonstrated Experience in Structure Inspection and Administration on Relevant Projects of High Complexity. The Specialist Cannot Be the Same Person as the Project Manager for the Project. The Specialist or Consultant Firm Shall Possess a Minimum of $1,000,000 General and Professional Liability Insurance Coverage. The Structural Steel Inspection Specialist Shall Provide Specialized Inspection Services for the Fabrication and Erection of All Structural Steel to Confirm the Contractors Conformance to the Contract Documents. The Inspection Services Include Procedure and Documentation Reviews and the Visual Inspection of the Structural Steel Components During Fabrication and Erection. The Fabrication Inspection Shall Include All Typical Fabrication Works, Any Shop Fit-up or Trial Assembly Operations, Field Fit-up and Welding. In Addition, the Structural Steel Inspection Specialist Shall Coordinate the Inspection Schedule With the Contract Administrator. Personnel Performing the Inspection Services Shall Report to the Ca and Liaise With Representatives of the Ca Team, Ministry, Designer, Contractor, Fabricators and Sub-contractors.
