The work to be bid upon is described as follows: Salt Lick Tank: Construction shall consist of pressure washing, tool cleaning and coating system on all interior and exterior surfaces, new roof vent, grouting around foundation and other necessary items as stated in the Specifications. After award of a contract, the General Contractor will be furnished, without charge, a reasonable number of plans and specifications needed to prosecute the work. Subcontractors and manufacturers and suppliers shall obtain plans and specifications from the General Contractor. Sealed proposals for the Contract shall be clearly marked on the outside of the container as follows: "Sealed proposal for "Salt Lick Tank Rehabilitation - Electric Plant Board of the City of Vanceburg" Not to be opened until 11:00 AM (local time), on Thursday October 12, 2023 Time allowed for completion of the Contract is 30 consecutive calendar days from the start date of April 1, 2024. If forwarded by mail, the sealed envelope containing the proposal must be enclosed in another envelope and mailed to the Electric Plant Board of the City of Vanceburg, 191 Front St., Vanceburg, KY 41179 allowing sufficient time for such mailing to reach this address prior to the scheduled closing time for the receipt of proposals. Bids shall be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond payable to the Electric Plant Board of the City of Vanceburg in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the base bid. No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of ninety (90) days after the date bids are opened. He may, however, withdraw his bid at any time prior to the time and date scheduled for opening of same or any authorized postponement thereof. Any bid received after the time and date specified will not be considered and will be returned unopened to the bidder. The Electric Plant Board of the City of Vanceburg reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive formalities and any bid that is obviously unbalanced may be rejected.
