The scope of work consists of construction of an 8 sidewalk along the north side of Allison Road, resurfacing of the existing roadway, installing a new drainage system along a portion of the project, site lighting, and landscaping as shown on the Construction Drawings. Allison Road will be milled and overlayed at the beginning and ending of the project where existing curb and gutter exists and overlayed throughout the rest of the project and driveway connections to private property. Furthermore, an underground boring system for electrical and telecommunication lines will be constructed along the entire length of the project and new service connections from Allison Road to private properties (Commercial and Residential) will be established throughout. The specific technique used to underground utilities will be made based on regulatory acceptability, cost efficiency and timeliness. The Contractor will be responsible for coordination with SCDOT, the City of Beaufort and the utility companies (Drainage, Water, Sewer, Gas, Electricity, Communications) for removal of all overhead lines and poles and underground utility relocation planning and construction. The Contractor is hereby made aware that with regard to the project, prevailing wages are to be in effect and that they apply for all highway construction activity in accordance with General Decision Number SC20230040. Prevailing wages in accordance with General Decision Number SC20230001 shall be in effect for all other construction activity that is not related to highway construction activities. The daily liquidated damages rate shall be determined from the Schedule of Liquidated Damages provided within the South Carolina Department of transportation Standard Specifications for Highway Construction, Edition of 2007 unless otherwise specified in the Bid Documents. Question Deadline 11/03/2023 at 5:00 PM Unless otherwise provided in the Supplemental Conditions, the Contractor shall obtain and pay for all permits, licenses, and certificates required for the proper execution and completion of Work under this Contract. The City of Beaufort reserves the right to reject any or all bids, or any parts thereof, waive informalities, negotiate terms and conditions, and to select an Offeror that best meets the needs of the City of Beaufort and its employees.
