The Board of County Commissioners of Okaloosa County, Florida, is seeking bids from qualified individuals and firms to perform the tasks identified in the scope of services, below. To be qualified, an individual or firm must possess a residential contractor's, building contractor's, or general contractor's license. The proposed project shall elevate a flood prone residential structure at least six (6) feet above the Base flood Elevation (BFE + 6') or the highest known elevation, whichever is higher. The structure is located at 610A&B Sunset Blvd W, Fort Walton Beach, FL 32547; in the X Zone but has suffered repeated damage from floods resulting in National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) claims. Currently, the structure has a Lower Floor Elevation (LFE) of approximately 11.7 feet NAVD88, according to the best available data for ground elevation from the United States Geologic Survey and Google Earth elevation profile. The BFE is approximated to be at 12.4' NAVD88, estimated using information for transect 41 in FEMA's effective Flood Insurance Study (FIS) as the best available data to determine the elevation.
