Included in the work is the replacement of existing gate valves and fire hydrants, 32 domestic water services, 3,050 square feet of sidewalk and ADA ramp replacement, 675 feet of concrete curb and gutter replacement, 10,250 square yards of HMA cold milling and HMA Surface removal, 2,000 tons of HMA paving, lawn restoration and other associated work items. The accepted bidder shall be required to furnish a satisfactory Performance Bond, and Labor and Material Bond in the amount of 100% of the Contract Price, and Maintenance and Guarantee Bond of 50% for two years of the Final Contract Price. The cost of the bonds will be paid by the accepted bidder. *The City of Ferndale reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, in whole or in part, and to waive any informalities, therein when such waiver is in the interest of the City of Ferndale, and to award the contract to other than the low bidder. In order to efficiently complete the proposed work in the Contract and to schedule the requisite inspection and material testing, the Contractor shall prepare and submit a detailed progress schedule which identifies the major work items involved in this project prior to the preconstruction meeting. Major work items shall include water main installation, testing, service reconnections, pavement and sidewalk replacement, restoration and completion for each street under construction. Pavement replacement on Jewell will be independent of pavement replacement on Mapledale.
