The Town of Banff (Town) invites interested parties to submit Tenders for the Bow River Bridge Rehabilitation Program 2023, in Banff, Alberta. This year's bridge rehabilitation works include masonry repairs, architectural repairs, concrete repairs, epoxy crack injection, bearing refurbishments, girder end paint repairs, and in-stream riprap installation at piers. This tender package is the second and final tender to be issued as part of the current Bow River Bridge Rehabilitation Program which started in 2022. For context, the first Contract for the Bow River Bridge Rehabilitation Program was completed in June of 2022 and had the following generalized scope of work: Installation of the Wabo(R)FS Bridge Seal in all 5 existing trough-style expansion joints; Damaged anchor bolts in the expansion joint cover plates were replaced with new drop-in Hilti HDI SS303 flush anchors and bolts; The entire concrete bridge deck and adjacent curbs/sidewalks received epoxy crack injection and silane sealer application; A summary of the rehabilitation works for 2023/2024 includes but is not limited to (quantities are approximate and are to be confirmed by the Contractor in the field): Concrete repairs at Piers 2, 3 and 4, with full depth repairs at Pier 2 and 3 upstream pier noses; Bearing refurbishment at 40 bearings, with sandblast removal of existing coating and metallizing, and installation of new bearing anchor bolts, at existing broken anchor bolt locations; Rebuild of 40 existing grout pads, with bridge jacking and use of temporary bearings; Installation of 2 new reinforced concrete shear blocks each at Piers 2, 3 and 4, with galvanized steel plates c/w Nelson studs, and epoxy bonded dowels in drilled holes; Salvage, rebuilt and installation of new rundlestone masonry at piers and wingwalls, and installation of new riverstone inlay at abutments and barriers; Installation of new Class 2 riprap and trimming of existing timber Wakefield piles at Piers 2 and 3, with installation of new Class 3 pier protection upstream of Pier 2; Paint repairs at existing girder ends; Filling of gaps below existing cover plates with polyurethane foam; Riprap haul route repair and/or removal and installation of new ACP; See Contract drawings, specifications, and manufacturer recommendations for further details and requirements. question 5pm Tuesday October 3, 2023
