Expansion of Pierre-Boucher Hospital located at 1333 Jacques-Cartier Boulevard in Longueuil (Quebec) J4M 2A5. The project consists of construction of a new pavilion to accommodate the emergency department, a short hospitalization unit as well as multipurpose spaces. This work will make it possible to meet the ever-increasing demand of the population of the region and to solve the functional problem and the lack of capacity of the building. The project also includes the reorganization and improvement of the mental health care department, installation of psychiatric outpatient clinics, psychiatric brief intervention beds and mental health beds. In addition, the short hospitalization unit will be set up in the new premises. The pediatrics and perinatal sectors are also part of the project. Following the project realization the number of hospital beds will be increased from 363 to 415. The new emergency department will have new 40 emergency stretchers. The project will also include upgrades and alterations to the existing emergency areas. TIMELINE: Process of the Request for proposals from civil and structural engineering professionals consulting firms to provide design and construction work monitoring services has closed. Deposited submissions are under review at the owner. According to the onwer's preliminary scheduling award is anticipated in late 2023. Construction start is preliminary slated for mid-2026. Notes: - After award the project will be followed in the report under CRM ID name 1333 Jacques-Cartier Boulevard, Longeuil Expansion - Project 523822. - The stated amount relates to civil and structural engineering work included into the project. The total value of construction work amounts to $202,771,539.
