The turnkey construction of a new Police Training facility Any Bidder who wishes its bid to be considered is responsible for making certain that its bid is received in the City Clerk's Office by the proper time. No oral, telegraphic, electronic, facsimile, or telephonic bids or modifications will be considered unless specified. Bids received after the scheduled bid opening time will be returned unopened. All Bidders shall be licensed by the State of Florida to do the type of work contemplated in the project. The Successful Bidder shall possess a valid Contractor's License issued by the State of Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation, Construction Industry at the time the contract is awarded. The class of license shall be General Contractor or any other classification applicable to the work specified in the contract. Each bidder shall also have no less than five (5) years' experience in the magnitude and character of the work bid. Bid Security Bond. Each Bid shall be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check, or Bid bond duly completed on the form provided herewith by a guaranty company authorized to carry on business in the State of Florida, in an amount equal to at least five percent (5%) of the sum of the total amount bid, including any options. Said bond is payable without condition to the City of Hialeah Gardens guaranty that the bidder, if awarded the contract, will promptly execute the contract in accordance with the Bid in manner and form required by these contract documents. The Bid Security shall be forfeited to the City of Hialeah Gardens as liquidated damages in the case of failure or neglect of the bidder to furnish, execute and deliver to the City of Hialeah Gardens the required performance bond, payment bond and evidences of insurance, and to enter into, execute and deliver to the City of Hialeah Gardens the contract on the form provided herewith, within ten (10) days after being notified in writing by the City of Hialeah Gardens that the award has been made and the contract is ready for execution. Performance Bond. The Successful Bidder will be required to furnish a Performance Bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the total amount of the contract before commencement of work and conforming to the contract documents. Substitution of Securities. The Contractor shall be permitted to substitute securities for any monies withheld by the City of Hialeah Gardens to ensure performance under this contract.
