The Town of Nantucket is seeking qualified Contractors for the repair and replacement of the roof and siding of the Take It Or Leave It (hereinafter "TIOLI") structure at the Nantucket Landfill. Pursuant to Massachusetts General Laws, chapter 149, sections 26 and 27, the Division of Occupational Safety (formerly the Department of Labor and Industries) has determined the Prevailing Wage Rates for this work. Bidder shall obtain and maintain at its expense and from insurance companies of a Best Rating of A or better, which are licensed to do business in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, insurance as set forth below. Questions concerning this IFB must be submitted via the Question & Answer feature of the Towns e-Procurement portal before 3:00 pm on Monday, October 30, 2023 The Town of Nantucket reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informality in bids received whenever such rejection or waiver is in its best interest. The Town of Nantucket is seeking qualified Contractors for the repair and replacement of the roof and siding of the Take It Or Leave It (hereinafter "TIOLI") structure at the Nantucket Landfill. 1.2. Background The Town of Nantucket is located 30 miles off the south coast of Cape Cod. It was settled in 1659 and incorporated in 1671. The Town has an annual year-round population of over 14,000 and approximately 60,000 seasonal residents. The island is 14 miles in length and 3 1/2 miles wide. The Town of Nantucket is within the County of Nantucket. It operates an operated skilled nursing facility, an extensive Public School System and other municipal operations. The Town functions under a Town Manager/Select Board form of government. The Select Board operates under a Charter and enacts policies intended to promote and enhance the general welfare of the Town.
