The County of Rockbridge, Virginia will receive sealed bids to replace the fuel canopy at Fleet Services It shall be the bidder's responsibility to determine their method of transmittal such that their bid package will arrive in the Procurement office prior to the scheduled deadline. Contact number: 540-463-1471 Rockbridge County ("the County" or "County of Rockbridge") is soliciting bids from qualified and licensed construction companies or individuals for construction of a new Fuel Canopy located at 228 Greenhouse Rd, Lexington, VA 24450. Canopy Requirements Design and submit engineered stamped drawings for twenty-six feet (26') wide, sixteen feet (16') clearance height and forty feet (40') long canopy with twin posts. Canopy is to constructed of steel, aluminum and non-combustible materials. Installed canopy will provide protection for three (3) dispensers and five (5) nozzles. NOTE: Contractor is responsible to make any changes to the design and construction that is required by the Building and Community Development Departments located in the Rockbridge County Administration Building at 150 South Main Street, Lexington, VA 24450. Once the Building and Community Development Departments have approved the drawings, contractor is to provide the County's representative with a tentative project time schedule for work completion. Notify the County's representative at least one (1) week in advance of starting work at job site for removal of the old canopy and one (1) weeks' notice of delivery of canopy for the installation. Tear down and dispose of the old fuel canopy. Contractor will absorb all costs related to disposal. Restore all grounds damaged by the construction of the canopy back to its original condition. Electrical Requirements Provide and install wiring and switches from power source for LED light fixtures in ceiling. Painting Requirement Prep, prime and paint 2 coats each to all vertical and horizontal surfaces, not prefinished by manufacturer with primer and paint approved for steel and aluminum application. The County's representative will choose the paint colors. Painting shall be complete before installation. Any surface scratched or disturbed during installation shall be touched up with the same paint. Responses from the County to a request for clarification or interpretation will be placed electronically on or before 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 19, 2023: A bid must be accompanied by Bid security made payable to the County of Rockbridge in an amount of five percent (5%) of Bidder's maximum Bid price and in the form of a certified check or a Bid Bond issued by a Surety authorized to conduct business in Virginia. The Successful Bidder shall furnish a Performance Bond and a labor and material Payment Bond with corporate surety satisfactory to the County, each in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract amount, at the time of or prior to execution of the Contract Documents. The cost shall be paid by the Successful Bidder. The Work will be Substantially Completed within twelve (12) weeks of Notice to Proceed and completed and ready for final payment no later than sixteen (16) weeks from the Notice to Proceed. Time is of the essence, subject to such adjustments and extensions as may be necessary pursuant to Article 11 of this Agreement. In no event shall the making by the County of any payment to the Contractor, or the waiver by the County of any provision under the Agreement including any obligation of the Contractor, constitute or be construed as a waiver by the County of any other provision, obligation, breach of covenant, or any default which may exist under the Agreement on the part of the Contractor, and the making of any such payment by the County while any such breach or default exists shall not impair or prejudice any right or remedies available to the County.
