Project Description: Project consists of removals, underdrains and storm lines, stormwater management improvements, playground equipment, playground surfacing, site furnishings, concrete paving, asphalt pathway, landscaping, and seeding operations. F. Construction Contract: Bids will be received for the following Work: 1. General Contract (all trades). 1.3 BID SECURITY A. Bid security shall be submitted with each bid in the amount of [10] Ten percent of the bid amount in the form of a certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond made payable to The Village of South Elgin, Parks and Recreation Department. No bids may be withdrawn for a period of [60] sixty days after opening of bids. Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive informalities and irregularities. 1.Bidders' Questions: All questions shall be made by email and received by Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at 5:00 pm. 1.6 TIME OF COMPLETION A. Successful bidder shall begin the Work on receipt of the Notice to Proceed and shall complete the Work within the Contract Time. 1.7 BIDDER'S QUALIFICATIONS/ A. Bidders must be properly licensed under the laws governing their respective trades and be able to obtain insurance and bonds required for the Work. The competency and responsibility of the Bidders will be considered in making awards. Bidder shall have minimum five years' experience in construction of a similar size and scope as this Project. Submit with the bid a list of projects with Owner names and phone numbers demonstrating required experience. Bidder may be required to submit a completed American Institute of Architects "Contractor's Qualification Statement" AIA Document A305 for review before making the award of the Contract. A Performance Bond, separate Labor and Material Payment Bond, and Insurance in a form acceptable to Owner will be required of the successful Bidder. B. The Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids, and to waive informalities to any bid when such is deemed by the Owner to be in the Owner's own best interests. C. Any proposal received after the time and date stated above will be returned to the Bidder unopened.
