Reference Number 0000327665 The Contract Documents provide for the construction of Bid 9871 9/11 Memorial at Spring Park. The 9/11 Memorial at Spring Park will offer residents and visitors a local destination to contemplate the magnitude of September 11, 2001, reflect on our collective loss, and honor firefighters and first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice on that dark day. This effort will ensure these values are shared with generations to come. Colorado Task Force 1- Urban Search and Rescue, a federal disaster response team, deployed 64 Coloradoans - including nine firefighters from the Poudre Fire Authority to New York City to assist with urban search and recovery. In 2015, a 3,059-pound steel I-beam pulled from the twisted wreckage of the World Trade Center was gifted to Poudre Fire Authority in honor our local heroes who assisted with recovery at ground zero. Today, the beam resides in a temporary at the PFA Training Center. It has long-been the desire to create a meaningful, permanent space in our community to display this artifact. On behalf of Park Planning & Development and Poudre Fire Authority (PFA), the City of Fort Collins (City) is seeking bids from qualified contractors to provide construction services to build the 9-11 Memorial at Spring Park. The 9-11 Memorial is an approximately .2-acre site (9000 SF) that will construct new memorial elements located behind PFA Station #3 adjacent to Spring Park in Mid-Town Fort Collins. See Attachment 1 for map, construction drawings, Attachment 2 for project specifications and Attachment 3 for geotechnical report. The City is requesting bids from contractors that have past experience with very detail oriented projects relating to concrete installation similar to the detail necessary for this project. The City is requesting this high level of detailed work experience within the last 3 years.
