The Facilities Department is soliciting firms to provide full Design and Build Services for the construction of a 30x30 foot prefabricated metal building extension. The building will be used to store emergency response supplies and a large high-water response vehicle. Prefab building is to abut existing facilities garage without passthrough or interior connections. Existing Eversource electrical service will need to be relocated from pole across the street so as not to run underneath new building footprint. Building requires full power, ventilation and heat with overhead door, pedestrian door, bollards and siding to match existing adjacent Facilities Garage. No additional plumbing, cooling or exhaust removal will be included in the prefab building, but provisions should be made for future connections as needed. All exterior finishes should match existing Facilities Garage as closely as possible. Site work will include needed foundation/slab and underground electrical service relocation and grass and grounds repairs as needed after work has been completed. Contractor will file for all related permits, Town permit fees waived except for State School fee. Contractor is responsible for all Eversource coordination to move existing power supply and seamless transition for building power. Project is subject to Prevailing Wage requirements as well as full materials and labor bonding. Madison Facilities Department is seeking SEALED Bids from interested construction firms to provide full project Design and Build services to construct a 30x30 foot prefabricated metal building extension to be attached to the existing Facilities Building and Garage located at 284 Green Hill Road, Madison CT 06443. Each bidder must provide two (2) hard copies of full bid packages. Original bid package and related addenda can be found online. Each bidder must provide two (2) hard copies of full bid packages. The work to be performed for the project is multiple parts. Selected firm will provide full design and estimate for the 30x30 prefabricated metal building along with preliminary construction schedule. Full building schematics and supporting documents are to be provided for Planning & Zoning applications. Town will secure all needed Planning & Zoning and Inland Wetlands approvals. Once approvals and funding are secured, Construction firm will be given the approval to purchase prefabricated metal building and proceed with all necessary sitework in anticipation of install. The Town of Madison reserves the right to waive any informalities, irregularities or defects in bids, to reject any and all bids and to accept a bid that, in its' sole discretion, is in the best interest of the Town.
