This project involves the removal and replacement of existing asphalt shingle roof by providing a newly installed asphalt shingle roof to meet existing code requirements and provide sufficient drainage. There is no change to the existing egress components or life safety components. Bidders should note that this project involves installation of sleepers as well as new plywood installed to the existing plywood decking; please review the Drawings and Project Manual for more details. Services provided by the contractor shall include, but are not limited to, furnishing of all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, tools, testing, transportation and all other miscellaneous appurtenances and work necessary to the complete the project in accordance with the Contract Documents, Drawings, and Specifications. All questions pertaining to this project should be directed to Jessica Yost, Senior Procurement Specialist no later than 2:00 p.m. September 5, 2023, in writing via email: jessica.yost@jamescitycountyva.gov. Schedule: Work under the contract shall begin on the date set forth in the Notice to Proceed (NTP) issued by the Owner. Substantial Completion is required by 90 days after NTP. Final Completion is required by 120 days after NTP. Bonding: Bid Security in the amount of Five percent (5%) of the Bid shall be submitted with each Bid. Performance and Payment bonds for one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract will be required by the Owner prior to execution of the contract. Liquidated Damages in the amount of $500.00 per day will be assessed for failure to meet the schedule for Substantial Completion or Final Completion.
