The project consists of an addition, renovations, and alterations to two existing animal barns on the campus of Will Rogers Memorial Center known as the Sheep Barn (40,000 SF), the Swine Barn (40,000 SF) and a new addition (27,000 SF) between the two barns. Removal of existing concourse and exhibit space between the barns (5,300 SF), 2nd level concourse mezzanines in Sheep Barn and Swine Barn (2,500 SF each) and related renovation work, are also included. New offices will be located at the north end of both barns and animal wash areas will be located near the south end of each barn. The Sheep and Swine Barns will be refurbished with insulated roofs and exterior walls, foundation walls, concrete floors, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical exhaust systems. New entrances and canopies will be added at the south ends of the two barns and along the west wall of the Swine Barn. The area between the two barns will be infilled with a new conditioned lobby and restrooms at the north end, a new truck dock / loading / staging area at the south end, and a new conditioned arena with retractable seating in the central area. A new covered pedestrian entrance to the site will be located at the corner of Harley Ave. and Gendy St. and new site fencing and RV hookups will be provided along Gendy St. with a new vehicular gate located near the northwest corner of the Swine Barn . The project includes an MWBE participation goal of 20%, and all MWBE vendors who qualify with the City of Fort Worth's requirements are encouraged to participate in this solicitation. There are five (5) Alternates related to audio-video systems, and a sixth alternate for acoustical panels in the new show arena. Reference Section 01 23 00 - ALTERNATES for the complete listing. All bidders must submit proposals for the Alternates as related to their work. Please send all proposals and questions related to this project to Dave Ritz at bids@sedalco.com. Proposers shall submit all questions about the Proposal Documents to the Construction Manager in writing to David Ritz at dritz@sedalco.com. Deadline for questions is Thursday, August 31, 2023 by 5:00 PM. Replies will be issued to all Proposers as an addendum to the Proposal Documents and shall become a part of the Contract. The Construction Manager, Architect and Owner will not be responsible for oral clarification. The construction manager is accepting trade contractor & supplier proposals.
