Contractor License Requirement(s): Class A or C-12 and City Business Project Completion Time: 45 Working days Proposed Council Action to Award: 09/20/2023 Notice to Proceed/Pre-Construction Meeting 09/27/2023 Construction Start Date: 10/2/2023 Construction End Date: 12/8/2023 Notice of Completion Council Action: 1/10/2024 The work involves the reconstruction and rehabilitation of an existing asphalt concrete roadway, including PCC improvements, cold planing, excavation, subgrade preparation, compaction, placement of hot mix asphalt concrete, curb ramp removal and construction, installation of new survey monuments, survey monument frame and cover and manhole ring and cover double adjustments to grade, and striping, legends, pavement markings and delineation. LIQUIDATED DAMAGES: Liquidated damages of One Thousand Five Hundred dollars($1500.00) per working day, as specified in the Special Conditions, shall be paid by the contractor to the City of Ridgecrest for each working day in excess of the time limit stated above that the project is not complete. BID SECURITY: Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified or cashier's check or bid bond in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total bid price payable to the City of Ridgecrest as a guarantee that the bidder, if its bid is accepted, will promptly execute the contract. BIDS TO REMAIN OPEN: The bidder shall guarantee the total bid price for a period of sixty (60) calendar days from the date of bid opening. DISADVANTAGED BUSINESS ENTERPRISE (DBE): Pursuant to Federal law, Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) requirements shall include all DBEs, as described in the Specifications.
