Located in the Green Mountain campground loop at Rock Lake Provincial Park, the Sulphur Spring Trail provides access from the campground to Rock Lake. From the vault washroom and wood shelter in the southern portion of the campground loop (Refer to Figure 1), a 1.5-meter (approx.) gravel trail extends approximately 40-meters to a wooden boardwalk (4m long x 1.8m wide c/w edger). Approximately 6-meters beyond the boardwalk the gravel trail terminates at an intermittent creek. Due to creek flooding and erosion, the existing bridge (1.8m wide approx. c/w edger) has been washed out and fragmented. In addition to the bridge, there has been considerable damage to the existing tree stands along both sides of the creek. The south side of the creek is on an outside meander and has sustained substantial and continuous erosion damage. Beyond the creek, the trail continues to Rock Lake. PROJECT OBJECTIVE: Construction of a new bridge at an alternate location and realignment of the connecting trail west of the existing location along with the removal of the existing bridge and decommissioning of the existing trail. SCOPE OF WORK: 1. General - mobilization/demobilization; bonding/insurance; safety plan; materials testing; ECOPlan and Environmental Protection. 2. Existing bridge and wood platform removal and disposal. 3. Tree removals along the new trail alignment. All tree removals to be placed in decommissioned trail areas (to be coordinated with the Consultant and/or Provincial Project Manager). 4. New bridge construction & trail development. 5. Bridge signage installation. 6. PROVISIONAL ITEM - Removal and relocation of surrounding deadfall in decommissioned trail areas. Documents can be obtained from https://buildworkscanada.com
