1. Identification and summary of Project The official name and location of the project shall henceforth be known as Lufkin Park Renovation 1000 Ardmore Avenue Villa Park, IL 60181 The official name and address of the project owner shall henceforth be known as Village of Villa Park 20 S. Ardmore Ave. Villa Park, IL 60181 The Lufkin Park Renovation Project consists of installing an interactive water spray pad, playground and obstacle course equipment, a bathroom-picnic shelter, performance shelter, observation platform, limestone walking trails with distance markers and educational signs, parking lot renovation with 2 asphalt surface course overlay, sensory garden materials and landscape plantings. Lufkin Park Renovation, which includes concrete flatwork, interactive water splash pad, playground and "obstacle course", picnic shelter with bathrooms, performance shelter, pond overlook deck, parking lot asphalt surface course overlay, walking trails and sensory play area with landscaping. The Village reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids, waive technicalities and select a bid that meets the specifications required by the Village. All bidders must comply with applicable Illinois law requiring the payment of current prevailing wages to all laborers, workers and mechanics, as determined by the Illinois Department of Labor, and the record keeping ,submission and inspection requirements of the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act, including the requirement for submission of certified payroll records. All bidders must also comply with the Illinois statutory requirements regarding labor, including equal employment opportunity laws. The Illinois Prevailing Wage Act is applicable to this Project. Not less than the prevailing rate of wages is required to be paid to all laborers, workers and mechanics performing work on this Project, and the Contractor and each subcontractor shall be required to comply with all record keeping, submission and inspection requirements of the Act. This project is being financed, in part, with funds from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, "Open Space Lands Acquisition and Development" (OSLAD) grant program. The Village of Villa Park encourages "minority" business firms to submit bids on the project and successful contract bidders to utilize minority businesses as subcontractors for supplies, equipment, services and construction. The Village encourages women and minority business firms to submit bids and encourages bidders to utilize minority businesses for supplies, equipment and services.
