The work to be done consists of furnishing all materials, equipment, tools, labor, transportation, and incidentals as required by the Plans and Specifications, and contract documents. The general items of work include the replacement of broken 30-inch corrugated steel storm drain pipe with a new 30-inch x 295 feet long dual wall corrugated high density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe on St. Albans Road, which shall include the excavation, removal of existing pipe, cement slurry backfill, installation of new precast manhole, and repair of existing A.C. street pavement and curb & gutter after the required installation work is completed. Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified or cashier's check, cash, or bid bond in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total bid price payable to City of San Gabriel as a guarantee that the awarded bidder will execute the Contract and provide the required bonds, certificates of insurance, and endorsements within seven calendars days of the of the award of contract by City Council. The City reserves the right after opening bids to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality (non-responsiveness) in a bid, or to make award to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder, and reject all other bids, as it may best serve the interest of the City. The bidder shall guarantee the Total Bid Price for a period of 90 calendar days from the date of bid opening.
