In general, the elements of the work include furnishing all labor, equipment, materials, tools, and other incidental items for the replacement of two existing 40 foot long 48-inch diameter Corrugated Metal Pipes (CMPs) with Reinforced Concrete Pipes (RCPs) of the same inner diameter and length. The work will also include the reconstruction of the asphalt roadway affected by the culvert replacement. Approximately 20 feet of roadway replacement was used to estimate quantities.The culverts are located southeast of the intersection of Old Cape Road East and Matthew Street. See attached map for the locations The existing corrugated metal pipes have failed along the flow line causing the subgrade to erode away from the under the road. As a temporary fix, the City Street Department has used flowable fill to secure the roadway.
