LIQUIDATED DAMAGES:$250.00 The Pier Harbor Guard office and locker room roofs are beyond their life expectancy and leaks are occurring into the interior. Several roofing companies have assessed the condition of the roof and determined the structures require a new roof. This project is to replace the roof at the Santa Monica Pier above two buildings (Harbor Patrol office, and Harbor locker room). The roof floor needs to be sloped appropriately to ensure rain flows smoothly. Remove existing pieces of equipment on the roof and reinstall them if necessary. The City is not responsible for Bidder's technical difficulties with submitting requests for clarification via email. The person submitting such request will be responsible for ensuring that the email was delivered and received by the City. Verbal requests for clarifications will not be considered. The last day to submit requests for clarification is5:30 pm, Monday, August 21, 2023. Any inquiries or requests regarding this procurement should be submitted via online Bids may be rejected if they show any alteration in form, additions not called for, conditions or alternative Bids, incomplete Bids or irregularities. The City reserves the right to reject any and all Bids. Each Bid must be accompanied by a certified or cashier's check made payable to the City of Santa Monica, or a Bidder's bond (using the form provided in the Bid Form) for an amount equal to at least ten percent (10%) of the amount bid as a guarantee that the Bidder will enter into a contract with the City Within ten (10) Days after the issuance of the Notice of Award and prior to commencing Work on the Project, Contractor shall file with City good and sufficient Labor & Material Payment and Performance Bonds each in the amount of 100% of the Contract Sum. The bonds shall be signed by both Contractor and Surety and properly notarized on the City's provided forms or such other forms as required by City. Should any bond required hereunder or any surety on such bond become or be determined by City to be insufficient, it shall be replaced within ten (10) Days by a bond that fully complies with the requirements of Article 11.2 (Bond Requirements) of the City's General Conditions. No further payments to Contractor for Work performed shall be made or due until Contractor has fully complied with all the requirements.
