The project is to make repairs to four (4) 10,000 gallon (14' diameter x 14' tall) vessels and fix corrosive areas and recoat. The Contractor shall furnish all material, equipment, labor, and supervision necessary to prepare and paint the interior and exterior of the four vessels. SCOPE: The project is to make repairs to four (4) 10,000 gallon (14' diameter x 14' tall) vessels and fix corrosive areas and recoat. The Contractor shall furnish all material, equipment, labor, and supervision necessary to prepare and paint the interior and exterior of the four vessels after as herein described. LOCATION: The Grand Island Water treatment plant is located at the Platte River Wellfield located south of Grand Island, NE on South Locust and Wellfield Road. TANK DESCRIPTION: The four tanks are 10,000 gallons (14' diameter x 14' tall) each located inside a heated building. The tanks are used to hold media that absorbs natural occurring uranium in the water. The media will be removed by Water Remediation Technologies (WRT) and the tanks will be surveyed for any residual radioactivity and cleared prior to painting contractor mobilizing to complete coating work. The tanks have laterals inside the vessel that will be removed by WRT. Grand Island Utilities will remove piping for medication prior to coating contractor performing work. There will be a separate contractor repairing internal structural supports prior to coating.
