The project consists of a Base Bid and a Bid Additive. The City has set the final completion date for the project as July 1, 2024; however, the bidder's will be given the opportunity to submit an earlier completion date, if they desire. Completion date will be one of the factors utilized by the City of Medina when evaluating bids. The bidder must submit a completion date with the bid submitted. This project consists of the removal and replacement of the existing concrete parking lot pavement and sidewalk at the City of Medina's Fire Station No. 1 located at 300 W. Reagan Parkway. Below please find a general summary of items that are included as a part of the Base Bid for this project: 1. Construction sequencing of work to maintain fire station operations. 2. Existing concrete pavement removal. 3. Existing concrete sidewalk removal. 4. The removal and replacement of certain existing storm sewer and structures. 5. Excavation of existing subgrade to accommodate new pavement and base thickness. 6. Installation of new fiber reinforced concrete pavement and curbing. 7. Installation of new fiber reinforced concrete sidewalk. 8. Pavement markings. 9. Final grading, topsoil placement, and seeding of all areas within the construction limits. Each bid must be accompanied by a Certified or Cashier's Check, or a bid bond, in the amount of 10 percent of the total amount bid, made payable to the City of Medina, Ohio as guarantee that, if the bid is accepted, a contract will be entered into with the City within thirty (30) days and its performance secured by a performance bond in the amount of 100 percent of the contract price, and in default thereof, said check or bond will be forfeited to the City of Medina as liquidated damages.
