It is the intent of the City of Helotes to award a contract for the construction of a 70' x 130' metal storage building for the City of Helotes Public Works to use as storage and workshop. 1. Installation of concrete slab for 70 ft x 130 ft metal building, and all site work needed. 2. Installation of 70 ft x 130 ft metal building with a minimum of 30 ft of its length clear of bay doors for workshop and storage space. 3. Installation of twelve powered bay doors with a minimum height of 14 feet and a minimum width of 12 feet and two personal doors. 4. The building shall have electric service for inside and out lighting, a minimum of three 240v outlets and twelve 120v outlets to be space around the building for general use, a minimum of two large ventilation fans, and twelve power bay doors. 5. Installation of all electric service as mentioned in Requirements for Site and Structures #4. 6. All construction must meet the international building code. Location: 12951 Bandera Road, Helotes, TX, 78023 see page 29 of CSB #23-01 Public Works Storage building, exact location on site TBD by the bidder and Public Works Director. Deadline for Submittal of Written Questions August 16, 2023 @ 10:00 a.m. CST Anticipated Committee Evaluation Review Date August 26, 2023 Anticipated Award Date September 1, 2023 Bid bonds are required for bids over $25,000.00 in the amount of 5% of the total bid amount. This must be issued by a good and sufficient surety licensed by the State of Texas and satisfactory to the City, or a Cashier's Check. A payment bond in the amount of 100% of the total contract amount insuring the full and prompt payment of all persons performing labor and/or furnishing materials in connection with this Project. A performance bond in the amount of 100% of the total contract amount insuring full, faithful, and prompt performance of the responsibilities contained in this contract within the time parameters provided herein. A maintenance bond insuring full and prompt maintenance, repair and/or replacement of the goods to be provided by Bidder for a period of two years from date of acceptance by the City. The parties agree that, if the Project is not completed within the time specified plus any extensions of time allowed pursuant thereto, the actual damages sustained by the Owner because of any such delay will be uncertain and difficult of ascertainment, and that the reasonably foreseeable value of the use of said project by the Owner would be the sum of $250.00 per calendar day. The Contractor therefore agrees to pay, and the Owner agrees to accept, as liquidated damages and not as a penalty, the sum of $250.00 per calendar pay for each day's delay in fully completing said project beyond the time specified in the Contract and any extensions of such time allowed there under. City Rights: City has the following rights: i. To reject any/or all submittals and to make award as they may appear to be advantageous to the City. ii. To hold any submittals for 90 days from submission date without action, and to waive all formalities in Bid and any submittal irregularities. iii. To extend the time for award beyond the original 90-day period, if agreed upon in writing by both parties and if submission is held firm.
