This project may contain Federal Funds. This project requires 25% DBE participation, or if the contract goal is not met, documented evidence of good faith efforts. The Consultant who is selected for this project and all Subconsultants the Prime Consultant will be using are scheduled to attend an initial meeting on November 2, 2023, at 10:00 AM at the Region One/District One Office in Schaumburg. Phase III engineering services are required to provide construction engineering for subject improvement. The proposed scope of work includes, but is not limited to, implementation of several ITS elements to improve local and regional mobility by addressing arterial congestion and improving transit mode share. These ITS design elements include traffic signal interconnect, travel time monitoring, dynamic message signs, closed-circuit television cameras, emergency vehicle preemption, and pedestrian countdown signals. In support of the proposed ITS improvements, other geometric design elements include full ADA compliance at signalized intersections, improved pedestrian access to transit, the addition of high visibility crosswalks, and far side relocation of bus stops at traffic signals where feasible and desirable.
