The intent of this project is to remove the existing basin coatings, then repair and recoat two of the City of Olathes monument fountains. One fountain is located near the intersection of 135th St and Pflumm and the other fountain is near the intersection of 119th St and Strang Line Rd. Work is to be completed between 9/11/23 - 10/6/23. Work to be Completed: The work to be done is the same for both monument fountains. The contractor shall furnish and install all necessary labor, materials, equipment, and supervision to complete the following: The contractor must protect all surrounding surfaces prior to work. The contractor must remove coating down to concrete with grinders and scrapers. The contractor must sandblast the concrete per manufacturers recommendations to provide a profile surface. The contractor must contain all grinding and sandblasting debris within the monument island area and ensure it does not become airborne in any traffic area. The contractor must grout and caulk all cracks in the concrete surface with urethane sealant. The contractor must prime concrete with Iso-Flex 650-HD Barrier Coat or approved equivalent. The contractor must detail all cracks and coves with Iso-Flex 780 base coat or approved equivalent. The contractor must apply (2) coats of Iso-Flex 630 coating or equivalent as the top coats. Color is to match existing material. The contractor must apply all products per the manufacturers recommendations. The contractor must keep all work equipment and trucks within the fountain island area, blocking of the roadways for any reason is prohibited. The contractor must clean up and remove all debris from the job site. All contractors awarded a contract in the amount of $25,000 or higher will have to provide a completed Questionnaire of Personnel Practices and/or current Certificate issued by the City of Olathe. No communication regarding this IFB should be directed to any other City official or employee. Respondents shall include confirmation of the receipt of any addenda with their bids. Failure to do so could result in your bid being deemed non-responsive. All contractors awarded a contract in the amount of $25,000 or higher are required to submit a current Kansas Certificate of Good Standing to the City with a valid verification code, upon award of contract. The Certificate is issued by the Kansas Secretary of States Office and affirms that a business has complied with the applicable provisions of the laws of the State of Kansas, is in good standing, and authorized to transact business or to conduct affairs within this state.
