The City of Arcata (City) is soliciting bids for the Terrace Avenue Improvement Project. The Project includes Improving Terrace Avenue by injecting the road with grouting spheres to stabilize the subgrade, improve the drainage system, and then repave the road. The WORK consists of the excavation and embankment necessary to establish grade for the road; providing construction traffic control and a specific traffic management plan; labor necessary for the delivery, placement of base, grading and compaction; labor necessary for supplying, delivering, placing, compaction of asphaltic concrete; labor necessary to cut, remove, and dispose of storm drain culvert, concrete barriers, type G.0 D.I; the work necessary to reinstall the type G.0 D.I.; the labor necessary to place the geogrid mesh stabilizer; and the labor necessary to stabilize the ground with compaction grouting bulbs located near 2260 Terrace Avenue. Contractors must possess, at minimum, a Class A General Contractor's License to bid, possess a valid Business License from the City of Arcata prior to commencing work, and demonstrate the necessary qualifications to complete the work described in the Scope of Work in Attachment A. Contractors must also be registered with the DIR. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to accept or reject any one or more items of a bid, or to waive any minor irregularities or informalities in any bid. *The value for this project is based on a financial range.
