The Army Contracting Command-Redstone Arsenal-Corpus Christi Army Depot(CCAD), Corpus Christi, Texas is issuing this sources sought to identify potential small business concerns having an interest and capability to supply the materials specified herein. Results of this market research will contribute to determining the method of procurement. Based on responses to this sources sought notice/market research, this requirement may be set-aside for small businesses (in full or in part) or procured through full and open competition. All small business set-aside categories will be considered. NO FUNDS ARE AVAILABLE TO PAY FOR PREPARATION OF RESPONSES TO THIS ANNOUNCEMENT. ANY INFORMATION SUBMITTED BY RESPONDENTS IS STRICTLY VOLUNTARY. Background: Bldg 340 scrubber duct (vertical run from scrubber to exhaust fan) collapsed (sucked in) and is in need of replacement. This is adversely impacting Bldg 340 (Plating Shop) production operations and requires expedient attention and repair. It is felt that the duct section was not adequately designed for the application. It is believed that summer heat and exhaust fan suction led to its collapse. Duct is of UV protected polypropylene construction. Specification for Replacement Duct Section: 1) Polypropylene or other vendor recommended and CCAD approved material of construction which would be compatible with acidic or basic scrubber solutions. 2) Scrubber section material of construction shall be UV protected. 3) Scrubber duct section shall be designed to withstand or exceed twelve (12) inches wg of vacuum or otherwise reinforced to prevent a collapse from reoccurring. Duct reinforcement bands or other strengthening means may be employed as deemed prudent in the design. Mechanical Specifications: Replacement duct 42" ID UVWPP; slip ring 42" ID Scope of Work: 1) Provide all equipment and labor for removing and replacing damaged duct section. 2) CCAD shall provide replacement duct section. 3) Note: Bolt holes in flanges of new duct section would be drilled in the field to match existing mating flange. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
