The Commission staff continues to identify derelict structures and other hazards located within its jurisdiction. These hazards impede trust use as well as pose a potential threat to public health and safety. The Commission is authorized to implement the Coastal Hazards Removal Projects by spending funds directly for site cleanup and proposes to implement this capability with a contract to be initiated by this Invitation for Bid (IFB) to firms interested in performing remediation work and removal of the various coastal hazards along the Santa Barbara and Ventura counties coastlines and other hazard sites. This project will target those identified hazards with higher potential risk of injury to the public in accordance with the project as funded. These hazards will be targeted for removal or remediation as conditions permit. Most are not visible for much of the year and accessibility is subject to tidal activity and the movement of beach sands. As such, all work will be requested on a work order, as needed basis Bids shall be accompanied by one of the following forms of bidder's security: cashier's check, certified check, or bidder's bond executed by a surety made payable to the "State Lands Commission." The security deposit must be equal to 10 percent (10%) of the Maximum Agreement Value. Please identify "IFB Number 2023-01" on your check or bond. Bidders must possess a contractor's license appropriate to the work to be performed. A Class A, General Engineering Contractor license in good standing is required as of the date of receipt of bid.
