Bid Security in the amount of not less than 5% of the Bid shall accompany each Bid in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. The security shall serve as a guarantee, that if the bid is accepted, the BIDDER will execute and file the required Contract Documents. The owner reserves the right to retain the security as liquidated damages if the BIDDER fails to execute the Contract Documents. The Bidder to whom a Contract is awarded shall furnish a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond each in an amount equal to the Contract Price. The owner reserves the right to reject any and all Bids, waive informalities in bidding, or to accept the Bid or Bids, which best serves the interests of the OWNER. The Work of this Contract is generally described as follows: A. Rehabilitate Lake Ellen Drive Structures. Generally maintenance and other improvements to the Manhole Structures including the following: 1. Adjust Manhole Structures a. Remove existing adjustment rings 6 structures 6 vf b. Install precast manhole barrel sections and adjust casting 6 structures 6 vf c. Adjust casting to finish grade (monolithic ring) 6 structures 2. Rehabilitate Interior Surfaces 6 structures a. average structure height 12 feet b. Bypass / divert wastewater flow c. Retuck sewer main to structure connections d. Remove minor inflow / infiltration using trenchless / pressure grouting methods (sewer main connections and structure barrel joints) e. Prepare interior concrete surfaces including remove loose materials, dry abrasive blast to sound concrete f. Install high strength cementitious leveling surface (duraplate 2000 or MS1000 or Raven HPM or StongSeal MS2A with Conshield) g. Protective coat flowlines / troughs, benches and barrel sections (invert to casting)
