The City of San Bruno (City) completed a Sewer Master Plan and a Water System Master Plan. The Sewer Master Plan identifies sewer system main improvements that reduce infiltration and inflow, replace aging sewer mains, and address areas where existing mains require more maintenance. The Water System Master Plan identifies water system pipeline replacement projects that improve fire flow reliability and replace aging water mains. Based on the master plans, the City prepared a Ten Year Sewer and Water Capital Improvement Program (CIP) Work Plan to develop a coordinated program to improve the sewer and water systems. Sewer and water improvements will be implemented together to streamline work and minimize disruption to the residents and businesses. Due to lack of funding, storm system improvements will not be a part of this RFP. The City, through the Public Works Department, seeks to retain professional engineering services for the design of the Avenues 2-3 Sewer Main Replacement Project and the Avenues 3-2 Sewer/Water Main Replacement Project.
