The awarded Contractor will construct a dry hydrant for fire protection and a water fill station at the Osceola Rd Landfill. Osceola Road Landfill does not have an adequate or reliable water distribution system for fire protection. The code allows other methods approved by the AHJ including a dry hydrant to be fed by an on-site water source (i.e. pond or lake). The water fill station will be fed by the same pond. S2L,Inc., the Engineer of Record, has developed a system design including a drawing and specifications to meet NFPA 1142 and prepared permitting documents to permit the system though the Seminole County Building and Fire Departments. Awarded Contractor will also be responsible for finalizing the Seminole County Permitting process. The Engineer's estimate for the project is $150,000.00. M/WBEs are encouraged to participate in the process.
