Architect/Engineer of Record: Not Applicable Question Deadline 08/10/2023 General Description of the Project: To replace two (2) HVAC in the Re-Pump Electrical Room All conditions and requirements for Quote/Bid submission, consideration, and award including S/M/WBE requirements and bonding requirements are contained in the Qualification of Contractors. Qualification is required in order to bid for projects under this Annual Contract. A contractor may obtain a Qualification Application for this Annual Contract by sending an email with the Project # Prequalification: Annual Contract - HVAC in the subject line to: FDO-CIDBids@pbcgov.org or call (561) 233-0261. Qualification applications may also be obtained Electronically The contractor must submit the Qualification Application at least 10 calendar days before the Quote/Bid Due Date in order for its quote/bid to be considered. Palm Beach County reserves the right to waive any bid irregularities, informalities, or technical deficiencies and to reject any and all quotes/bids SCOPE OF WORK To replace two (2) HVAC in the Re-Pump Electrical Room per the project requirements provided below: a. Remove existing Condensing Units (CU) and Air Handler units (AHU), furnish and install a new HVAC equipment as specified in Exhibit "1" and this scope of work Demolition shall be one (1) unit at a time and coordinated with Water Utilities Department (WUD). c. One new unit shall be operational minimum forty-eight (48) hours with no issues before the second unit is demolished. A complete start-up sheet shall be provided and approved prior to the second unit shutdown. The contractor shall document the system pressures and running load amps. d. The removed units shall be disposed of according to local guidelines. e. Test, remove, reinstall, and re-test the fire alarm devices per Electronic Services & Security (ESS) specifications in Exhibit "2". All testing shall be completed with an ESS representative present. f. Replace the existing electrical connectors, liquid-tite conduit, and wire from the exterior disconnect to the new condenser unit. Existing disconnects shall remain and be reused. g. Provide all necessary piping, electrical, control wiring accessories, and refrigerant lines to make the system operational per the manufacturer's specifications. h. All Air Handler & Condenser Unit coils shall be coated with Luvata Insitu Coil Coating or Palm Beach County (PBC) approved equal. i. Include and install factory hail guards for both condenser units. j. Contractor shall use new 410A refrigerant, check for proper charge, and leak check refrigerant system. k. Contractor shall confirm all refrigerant line sizes for new 410A equipment. l. The Contractor shall include new line sets if existing is not compatible with new equipment. Existing line set supports and hangers can be re-used and modified to accept the new line sets. All new copper shall be Hard-Drawn Type K copper. m. If re-using the line sets, the contractor shall remove all R-22 Refrigerant and flush all refrigerant lines to accommodate the new R-410A Refrigerant. n. Install new liquid and suction line driers, with shell cores. Manufacturer installed driers shall be removed onsite prior to charging the system. All new copper pipe fittings shall be Hard-Drawn Type K. o. Perform a 30-in mercury evacuation of refrigerant lines by use of a vacuum pump and maintain a 30-in mercury standing vacuum for one (1) hour after new filter cores are installed. p. Pipe Insulation shall be Aero flex Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer (EPDM) rubber or PBC approved equalInstall new liquid and suction line isolation valves, before and after drier cores, to accommodate core removal. r. Install new Stainless Steelpan and safety float switches at each Air Handler Unit. s. Install liquid line sight glasses on both stages t. Ensure all drain lines are clear and operational. u. All new penetrations shall be sealed and patched to meet code requirements. v. Document system pressures and running load amps. w. Where insulation is exposed outside, it shall be painted with two coats of paint, containing Ultra Violet (UV) inhibitors, and in accordance with the insulation manufacturers' recommendations. x. Provide and install new matching programmable thermostats as per Trane's specifications. y. New equipment and existing disconnects shall be identified with new number labels 1. For example: AHU 1/ AHU 2, CU1/ CU 2 2. Numbering shall be plastic engraved plates adhered to each unit in a visible spot. z. Electrical Panel Legend shall be updated to match the installation.
