Question Deadline Jul 26, 2023 at 12:00 PM PROJECT DESCRIPTION: CONCRETE DIAMOND GRINDING: This work shall consist of all labor, materials, equipment, clean up and disposal required to grind concrete pavement traffic lane surfaces. The contractor will coordinate work with City of O'Fallon Staff. In general, the contractor shall texture the entire pavement surface. Extra depth grinding to eliminate minor depressions in order to provide texturing on 100 percent of the pavement surface will not be required. The grinding contractor shall be responsible to grind the entire width of the road within twenty-four (24") inches of the existing curb. Areas near drainage inlets may require extra grinding to allow all surface water to drain into the existing throat. Any standing water as a result of grinding shall be unacceptable and corrective actions will be required to ensure proper drainage. Proper disposal of all spoil materials, water and diamond grinding slurry shall be the responsibility of the contractor. The City will provide a location to dump the spoils/slurry. HYDRANT PERMIT: The contractor may use City of O'Fallon water to supply the diamond grinding operation. The City of O'Fallon Water Department will require a permit to obtain water from a local hydrant. Said permit may be obtained by contacting the City of O'Fallon Water Department. (City Staff can assist if needed) WORK AREA: The work area will take place on North Main Street in O'Fallon beginning at Tom Ginnever Blvd. and going North approximately 2,000 feet to near Ashford Place Dr. All work will be completed in the far-right lane only. O'FALLON FIRE STATION #1: The O'Fallon Fire Station entrance/exit is included in the work area. Before any work begins in front of or near the Fire Station the Contractor and City Staff will communicate with representatives from the Fire Station to ensure that Fire Trucks and equipment maintain access to North Main or have an alternate entrance/exit. TRAFFIC CONTROL: The City will provide all traffic control for the project. Including Channelizers, Message Boards, Advanced Waring Signs, Arrow Boards, etc
