The fire station design and construction must accommodate at least the following key items: o Target approximately 25,000 square foot, 3 story (one below grade) fire station. o Twenty-four hour living facilities for 15 personnel. o Office facilities for one (2) company officers, one (1) operations chief suite, and one (1) common/shared flex use space. o Housing for two fire apparatus, two ambulance, One response chief vehicle, and support apparatus (anticipated design for up to 4 bays approximately 70-75' deep). o Classroom for training. o Wellness facility / area. o Large common area in basement to allow for multiple uses, including public sheltering. o Diesel exhaust filtration system. o Affordable, LEED-based principles, as well as Green initiatives (not seeking LEED certification). o Decontamination areas. o Security/access control and special systems compatible with existing facilities. o Integral workspace The submittals must be standard letter-size pages (8.5" x 11") having a minimum font size of eleven (11) points and no more than six (6) pages in length. Up to four (4) additional pages may be submitted as an appendix and may be up to 11" x 17" in size. In addition, a single page cover letter should be submitted, which includes the name, title, email address and phone number of the point of contact person for the consultant team. A selection committee will evaluate the submittals based on the above criteria and notify selected firms for oral interviews (if necessary). A feasibility study to determine if a remodel or complete rebuild of fire station one provides the best long-term outcome will be included in the design scope of services. The selected firm will provide the design services in collaboration with the selected Construction Manager. The Construction Manager will be selected in late 2023. Professional architectural and engineering design services for this project will include several design disciplines: civil, architectural, landscaping, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and others as required to develop the site and remodel or rebuild the facility. Design work will be performed in collaboration with the Construction Manager. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
