The Contractor is to furnish all labor, materials, submittals, and equipment required for the project and related construction, complete for the various lump sum and unit price line items bid. The work is to be coordinated by the Contractor with the Owner, Engineer, and third parties as necessary. B. By way of brief summary, the Summary of Work includes bulkhead replacement improvements, as described or detailed more fully for this project in the various Contract Documents. The scope of work includes the furnishing of all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to complete the work as shown on the Drawings and as described in the Specifications. The work consists of the replacement of the existing timber bulkhead with a new aluminum sheeting bulkhead; reconstruction of an existing storm sewer outfall pipe with a new bulkhead penetration; installation riprap embankment ground cover; installation of temporary fencing for construction safety and security; removal and disposal of the existing timber bulkhead, timber bulkhead tie-back system, and sections of the landward concrete promenade; Installation of anchor points in the existing promenade for future site amenities by others; placement and compaction of clean backfill material; installation of flowable fill as shown or described in the Contract Documents; the restoration of existing improvements affected by bulkhead replacement work such as existing concrete sidewalk, curbing, asphalt pavement, and landscape areas at various locations; replacement of concrete promenade landward of new bulkhead; removal and replacement of existing modular block retaining wall; careful removal, on-site storage, and reinstallation of the existing bulkhead railing system; construction of a temporary coffer dam for full removal of the timber bulkhead and for installation of the new aluminum bulkhead;timber pile repairs for the fishing pier; and the concrete repairs to the fishing pier girder and deck as shown on the Contract Drawings. The Contractor shall also be responsible for protecting existing improvements to remain, general site cleanup, site restoration of disturbed lawns and parking areas, and for the protection and safety of pedestrian and vehicular traffic within the limits of work Bid Security in the amount of 10% of the total bid shall be supplied in the form of a Certified Check, Cashier's Check or Bid Bond, but not in excess of $20,000.00. E-bonds through Surety2000 are also acceptable. See Vendor Questionnaire for additional information regarding e-bonds. A Performance Bond in the form of a Certified Check (cash) or Bond, from a surety company authorized to transact business in the State of New Jersey, in the amount of 100% of total bid will be required from the successful bidder, to insure faithful performance of the contract. The Performance Bond and contract must be filed with the County of Ocean within twenty-one (21) days of the award resolution, or the contract will be subject to rescission. Project Schedule: Project to be completed within 120 calendar days of Notice to Proceed. Project to have a Liquidating Damage Clause of $500.00 per day after date of Contract completion.
