As of October 26, 2023, the bid for this project was not awarded, as the project did not receive as many competitive bids as anticipated and will be re-bid. Project will rebid but no definite date yet. The contract period will end no later than June 30th , 2024(excludes warranty period). Deadline for Submitting Written Questions August 4 th, 2023 @5:00p.m. The Historic Museum at Fort Missoula (HMFM) is the recipient of a Japanese American Confinement Sites (JACS) Grant that is to be used to rehabilitate and reconstruct two original barrack buildings from the WWII Department of Justice Internment Camp at Fort Missoula located on the grounds of the Historic Museum at Fort Missoula campus. The goal is to rehabilitate one barrack (referred to as E100) on both the interior and exterior to bring it back to historical conditions. The second barrack (referred to as W100) will be a new building (only the concrete foundation is in place) that matches the E100 but its use will be for climate controlled artifact storage. David Wall, Missoula County Auditor and Procurement Officer dwall@missoulacounty.us Construction Manager: Ethan Redfern Email Address: eredfern@missoulacounty.us Missoula County entered into a contract agreement with A&E Architects in February of 2022 to put together a permit set of drawings along with specifications for the rehabilitation and reconstruction of two barracks at the Historic Museum at the Fort Missoula (HMFM). A&E Architects received permit approval from the City of Missoula on May 10 th , 2023 and Missoula County is now looking to move forward with the construction phase of the project. Through this RFP process, the Owner (Missoula County) is looking to select a general contractor to perform the construction phase of the project. The Owner has contracted Gem Environmental to provide environmental assessment reports. In the findings of the report there is no asbestos containing materials in the existing buildings materials. However, there is lead paint, lead paint will need to be properly mitigated on the existing siding during this project. These reports can be made available upon request. Additionally, aspects of this project will need to follow Secretary of Interiors Standards for Treatment if Historic Properties and all applicable building code requirements. Following the receipt of proposals, Missoula County is looking to engage the selected firm immediately to begin material procurement and all construction activities associated with this project. There will be a site-walk through on August 1 st , 2023 at 2:00p.m. as noted in the RFP timeline, with this project having many existing conditions it is encouraged that all contractors planning to propose on this project attend. Additionally, the Owner anticipates an addendum for this project, please ask any questions you may have regarding this project and submit these questions to the Auditor by August 4 th , 2023 at 5:00p.m. and the Owner and design team will work to have answers posted by August 8 th , 2023 at 5:00p.m.
