Marion County Facilities Management desires to engage a qualified plumbing contractor for replacement of sinks and cast-iron soil piping throughout E and F Pods at the Marion County Jail. The successful bidder shall provide all labor and materials to deliver a complete replacement of the above grade cast iron soil pipes in the pipe chases of E and F Pods of the Marion County Jail. Each Pod contains 4 separate sections (A, B, C, and D). Each section has 2 pipe chases. There are 8 pipe chases in each Pod for a total of 16 pipe chases. There are also 8 sinks per section (total of 64 sinks) that we wish to have replaced as part of this project. Payment and Performance Bond - It is the County's preference to require public works construction bonds (Payment & Performance or P&Ps) for all construction work at any value, however for those under $200,000 P&Ps may be waived at the using department's discretion when presented as an alternate on the Bid Form. Any Public Works construction project of which the value exceeds $200,000 as a result of this contract must be P&P bonded with the awarded contractor per Florida Statute 255.05, and have those P&Ps recorded with the Clerk of the Court, and verified by Procurement before any work can commence. Bid Bond, acceptable to the Board of County Commissioners; or a Cashier's Check (Bid Security) payable to the Marion County Board of County Commissioners in the total amount of five percent (5%) of the total base bid amount shall accompany any bid. A Bid Bond/Bid Security constitutes a pledge by the Bidder that upon award, he will enter into a Contract with the Owner on the terms stated in his Bid. Bid securities of all bidders will be returned upon execution of contracts by the awarded vendor. Liquidated Damages - Damages to the County as a result of the contractor's delay shall be assessed for this project at $250 per calendar day for any day beyond established completion schedules established herein. Question Deadline 08/07/2023 at 12:00 PM ET For questions relating to this bid, contact: Jodi Shoemaker | jodi.shoemaker@marionfl.org The County reserves the right to accept or reject any subcontractor based on past performance, location, or any other grounds that may conflict with the best interests of Marion County Board of County Commissioners. 90 calendar days to Substantial Completion + 10 calendar days to Final Completion
