Lee County Board of County Commissioners seeks to contract with a qualified Contractor to furnish and install fiber optic cabling, bored conduit, and related site improvements from the intersection of Lee Blvd and Williams Road in Lehigh Acres, FL to the main distribution frame (MDF) room to be located at the proposed site location on the southwest parcel at the intersection of Williams Road and Village Lakes Boulevard. Lee County Board of County Commissioners seeks to contract with a qualified Contractor to furnish and install fiber optic cabling, bored conduit, and related site improvementsfrom the intersection of Lee Blvd and Williams Road in Lehigh Acres, FL to the main distribution frame (MDF) room to be located at the proposed site location on the Southwest parcel at the intersection of Williams Road and Village Lakes Boulevard. 1.2. The work covered by these specifications consists of furnishing all labor, equipment, and materials necessary for drilling and boring, conduit installation, fiber optic cable installation and connection, and related site improvements. 1.3 The Contractor is responsible for completing all specified requirements in the specifications and drawings. 1.4 Work to be performed by the Contractor shall include, but is not limited to: 1.4.1 General: 1.4.1.1 Mobilization and Demobilization of the Site 1.4.1.2 Contact the following agencies to determine ownership and if special consideration is necessary with regards to canal shots: o Army Corp of Engineers; o South Florida Water Management District; and o Lehigh Acres Municipal Services Improvement District 1.4.2 Directional Drilling and Boring: 1.4.2.1 Furnish and install all labor and equipment for directional drilling and boring activities. 1.4.2.2 Provide ground penetrating radar for all non-ROW areas to locate existing utilities in area of work. 1.4.2.3 Furnish and install 3,500 Lf of 2" HDPE Conduit-Bored including Canal Shot. 1.4.2.4 Furnish and install 5 each of 24" D x 36" L x 24" D Quazite handholes. 1.4.3. Fiber Installation, Splicing, and Connections: 1.4.3.1. Furnish and install conduit and 24-count single-mode fiber into the existing County handhole on the southwest corner of the intersection of Lee Blvd/Williams Road in Lehigh Acres. 1.4.3.2. Furnish and install 3,500 LF of 24-strand single-mode Corning fiber cable loose tube with tracer or equivalent. 1.4.3.3. Furnish and install Corning fiber bay housing panel with a 24-pack Connector Single-Mode or equivalent. 1.4.3.4. Furnish and install 2 each Corning Fiber Stackable Trays or equivalent Furnish and install splice closure, Corning # SCF-6C28-01 for cables up to 144 fibers or equivalent 1.4.3.6. Furnish and install Rackmount with 12 Coupler Panels 1.4.3.7. Ring cut and fuse splicing per strand 1.4.3.8. Fuse splicing per strand (terminations) 1.4.3.9. Tie in new 24-count single-mode fiber strands into the existing 96 fiber splice enclosure after hours in the maintenance window 1.4.3.10. Provide and install a rack mount fiber bay into Owner's cabinet including all Lucent Connector (fiber connector type) coupler panels and fusion spliced pigtails Question Deadline 08/09/2023 at 5:00 PM ET From the Notice to Proceed or the Purchase Order date, whichever applies: 120 calendar days to substantial completion, 30 calendar days from substantial completion to final completion. The total contract time is 150 days. liquidated damages in the amount of $882.00 per calendar day.
