The Base Bid work consists generally of furnishing and installing roughly 3,700 LF of 10 sewer force main, 550 LF of 12directional bore, air release valve and vaults, connection to existing main, abandonment of existing force main, new pump station impellers and pressure switch, traffic control, site restoration and all other necessary and appurtenant work required to complete the work as described in these specifications and detailed in the drawings. All Bidders must be licensed contractors to perform the types of construction described herein, as required by Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 62, Chapter 6. A certified check or bank draft, payable to the City of Millington, or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and an acceptable surety, in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total of Bid, shall be submitted with each Bid. The City of Millington reserves the right to reject any or all bids in whole or in part, with or without cause; and to accept the lowest bid per location which in its judgement will be for the best interest of the City of Millington. the Contractor agrees to pay the City of Millington the sum of FIVE HUNDRED AND NO DOLLARS ($500.00) per day for liquidated damages for every calendar day that the work remains incomplete beyond 240 days from date of Notice to Proceed.
