Furnishing all labor, materials, and equipment and performing all work necessary and incidental to the completion of the project known as City of Scotts Valley Wastewater Treatment Plant Shaftless Screw Conveyor consisting of the removal and disposal of existing Shaftless Screw Conveyor, procurement and installation of new Shaftless Screw Conveyor. The scope of work to be performed under this contract consists of the removal/disposal of existing Shaftless Screw Conveyor, procurement of new Shaftless Screw Conveyor, and Installation of new Shaftless Screw Conveyor. The work specifically consists of: Construction work is necessary to remove the existing Shaftless Screw conveyor as well as order and install new Shaftless Screw Conveyor. The Contractor shall do all work incidental to legally and satisfactorily complete the work including the furnishing of all supervision, labor, materials, supplies, tools, equipment, transportation, utility coordination, applicable taxes, permits, and any other necessary or required incidental work essential to accomplish the work, whether or not shown on the plans or required in these specifications. The cost of all such incidental work shall be included in the various item of work and no additional or direct payment will be made therefore. BID SECURITY: Each bid must be accompanied by cash, a certified or cashier's check, or a bidder's bond in the sum of not less than ten percent (10%) of the total aggregate of the bid. The check or bond shall be made payable to the order of the City of Scotts Valley. Prior to the commencement of any work, CONTRACTOR shall provide CITY with evidence that it has obtained insurance and Performance and Payment Bonds satisfying all requirements outlined in the Insurance Certificate. These wages are set forth in the General Prevailing Wage Rates for this project, available from the California Department of Industrial Relations' Internet web site at electronically. Each Contractor must comply with the Federal wage requirements of the Davis-Bacon Act. The higher of the two rates (State and Federal) must be paid to each person working on the project Liquidated damages shall be assessed in the amount of one thousand five hundred dollars ($1,500.00) for each calendar day the work remains incomplete beyond the time fixed above for completion. Bids will be considered for award by the Scotts Valley City Council. The City of Scotts Valley reserves the right after opening bids to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality (non-responsiveness) in a bid, or to make award to the lowest responsive, responsible Bidder and reject all other bids, as it may best serve the interest of the City.
