A. The work includes unbolting and removal of three existing corroded stem guides, drilling new holes, and mounting three new 316 stainless steel stem guides with new stainless-steel anchors and hardware. B. The Contractor shall inspect the condition of the ACME threaded slide gate stem, and stem connection to the gate. C. The slide gate stem guides are located inside a wastewater lift station wet well. The facility will have active wastewater flowing through the wet well throughout the course of the work. The Contractor shall be responsible for providing any forced air, self-contained breathing apparatus, air monitoring, and confined space entry equipment as necessary to safely perform the work inside the wet well. D. The Contractor shall attend one site visit with City of Irving personnel prior to beginning work. E. The Contractor shall notify City of Irving upon discovery of additional repair work not covered in the scope, for City of Irving approval. F. The Contractor is responsible for properly disposing of the existing corroded stem guides and any other equipment or parts that need to be removed to complete the work Question Deadline 07/20/2023 at 8:00 AM CT The responses will be posted after consultation with the appropriate department personnel. If the responses necessitate a significant change to the specifications, an addendum will be issued. The City of Irving reserves the right to terminate the contract without prior notice in the event the Respondent defaults or breaches any of the terms and conditions of this contract, or otherwise fails to perform in accordance with the bid specifications
