The County is looking into options for converting our current athletic field lighting from the aging technology currently in use to new technology using LED lighting. As well as converting lights to LED, there are 15 fields that we are looking to add lighting to that would be considered new construction. Attached are park maps with field location and what needs to be done at each park, broken down to Retrofit, New Construction or Currently has LED lights (see Exhibits 3 and 4). As well as converting sports lights to LED we would like to convert parking lot lighting to LED at each park. The main objectives and data for the project are provided below: a. Retrofit - Conversion of existing metal halide fixtures to LED fixtures and bulbs by using current light poles. Retrofit to meet IESNA recommended lighting levels for sports and recreational area lighting, to include uniformity and smoothness. b. New Construction - install and wire up new poles with fixtures and LED bulbs that meet IESNA recommended lighting levels for sports and recreational area lighting, to include uniformity and smoothness. c. All lamps shall be LED with a minimum CRI of 65 and a minimum color temperature of 5000K. d. All installed lighting must conform to the Outdoor Lighting Regulations from the Manatee County Land Development Code for measurable spill illumination limits. e. System - All lights should be controlled through an operating system that allows manual operation, remote operation and ability to set schedules for lights to turn on and off remotely. Any new system must be capable of interfacing seamlessly with the County's current scheduling software. f. The County currently uses Rec-Trac by Vermont Systems, Inc. for scheduling in connection with and Musco Lighting Control Link Systems at each park to set schedules for lights to turn on and off remotely. g. Parking Lot Lighting - Convert current Parking lot lighting to LED. All conversions must comply with state and local codes for outdoor lighting in the parking areas. h. All lighting should be covered under a warranty plan for a minimum of 10 years for retro fit and a minimum of 20 years for new installation to replace any issues that come after installation.
