Award amount is $1,056,602.75** The project generally consists of the resurfacing and reconstruction of Cottage Street, from E. 5th Street to Hobart Avenue, W. 5th Street, from J.F.K. Boulevard (C.R. 501) to Humphrey Avenue, E. 5th Street, from Broadway to Cottage Street, W. 19th Street, from J.F.K. Boulevard (C.R. 501) to Avenue C, W. 20th Street, from Broadway to Avenue C, W. 21st Street, from J.F.K. Boulevard (C.R. 501) to Avenue C, E. 25th Street, from Broadway to Avenue E, W. 36th Street, from Broadway to Avenue C, W. 44th Street, from Broadway to Avenue C, W. 49th Street, from Broadway to Avenue C, and W. 57th Street, from J.F.K. Boulevard (C.R. 501) to Avenue B, as delineated on the contract drawings, including but not limited to Hot Mix Asphalt milling and/or pavement repairs, installation of new concrete curbs, sidewalk and ADA compliant curb ramps, installation of 2" thick Hot Mix Asphalt 9.5M64 Surface Course and 4" thick Hot Mix Asphalt 19M64 Base Course, storm/sanitary sewer structure improvements, and related work within the City of Bayonne, and all other associated work as contained in the Contract Documents or as ordered by the Engineer. Proposals and the Contract Documents must be enclosed in sealed envelopes bearing the name and address of the Bidder and the name of the work on the outside addressed to Mayor and City Council, City of Bayonne and must be accompanied by a Statement of Consent of Surety from a Surety Company authorized to do business in the State of New Jersey and acceptable to the City. All Bids shall be submitted in sealed envelopes addressed to the Purchasing Agent of Bayonne, the envelope shall have marked conspicuously on its face on the top right-hand side in letters not less than one inch the word "Public Bid" followed immediately below those words in letters not less than one half inch high: "2023 ROADWAY IMPROVEMENTS PHASE II" and underneath that "To be received on August 2, 2023 at 11:00 a.m." If Bids are to be accepted by mail or courier, the Bids must be placed in an outer envelope, which on the top right-hand side shall clearly designate in the same manner as set forth above, the same size and information. The inner envelope shall have specifically placed in the center the same information as set forth above and on the bottom left-hand side the name and address of the Bidder. All Bids delivered by mail or other postal service shall be addressed specifically to the Purchasing Agent of Bayonne and if delivered by a postal service shall be delivered to the office of the Purchasing Agent, Room 29, 630 Avenue C, Bayonne, New Jersey 07002 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. prior to the time set forth for the opening of the Bid and not earlier than 48 hours previous to the opening of the Bid. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check or cashier's check in the amount of not less than ten (10%) percent of the Bid, but not more than $20,000.00, payable without any conditional endorsement as a guarantee that in case the contract is awarded to the bidder, he will within ten (10) days thereafter execute such contract and furnish satisfactory performance bond. Upon failure to do so he shall forfeit the deposit as liquidated damages and the acceptance of the bid will be contingent upon the fulfillment of this requirement by the bidder. No interest shall be allowed upon any such certified check or cashier's check. A bid bond in the amount of ten (10%) percent of the bid, but not more than $20,000.00, may be substituted for certified check or cashier's check. The bidder shall be required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 40A:11-21 and N.J.S.A. 40A:11-22. In addition, a Certificate (Consent of Surety) with Power of Attorney for full amount of bid price from a Surety Company authorized to do business in the State of New Jersey and that said Surety will furnish a Performance and Payment Bond for the full amount of the bid, in accordance with the bid specifications. City reserves the right to reject any or all bids if in its opinion it is in the best interest to do so and to award the contract for any and/or all items
