BASE BID SCOPE OF WORK: The work consists of demolition of existing HVAC and the provision / installation of new equipment throughout the first floor, second floor, third floor, and attic of Christian County Courthouse. Electrical work is commensurate with the scope. ALTERNATE BID #1: For accounting purposes only, all equipment, and related electrical work, in the basement for outside air requirements, as well as any work to the fresh air shafts from the basement up to other floors shall be Alternate Bid #1. Drawings and specifications will be available for viewing on the internet at: Hurst-Rosche, Inc. The documents are being provided for reference purposes only. Bidders are encouraged to obtain a signed and sealed hard set of the bidding documents. The Owner requires the project to be substantially complete by March 15, 2024. Should the Contractor fail to complete the work within such time, contractor agrees to compensate and will apply to the Owner for each and every day of such delay in completion of the work beyond the contract time in the sum of one hundred dollars ($100.00) per day for work not completed by the substantial completion date as liquidated damages. Bid security - Bids shall be accompanied by a bid security in the form of a bid bond, certified check, cashier's check, or bank draft in the amount of 10% of the bid amount. Bid bonds shall meet the acceptance of the County of Christian, and that acceptance shall be at the sole discretion of the County. In general, bond acceptance will be based by the County upon 1) coverage on performance of the contract and the payment of all obligations arising thereunder; 2) the bond amount matching the full amount of the bid; and 3) execution by a surety acceptable to the County. In general, acceptance of the surety will be based by the County by the bond company having a current Best's rating of any level of "B" or better and a current Best's financial class of "V" or higher. Submit two copies of your Bid on the Bid Form provided. Bidders may supplement this form as appropriate. Your Bid will be required to be submitted under a condition of irrevocability for a period of 30 days after submission. The County of Christian reserves the right to reject any or all bids or waive any informality in any bid and to accept any bid considered advantageous to the County. Further, the County of Christian, when its opinion is in the best interest of the County, reserves the right to: 1) accept any bid; 2) wave technical deficiencies and irregularities; 3) allow bidder to remedy technical deficiencies or irregularities within a stated time; 4) rescind any notice of award if the County of Christian determines the notice of award was issued in error; 5) re-bid any contract. William R. Kennedy, or successor appointed by the chairman of the board, will act as Construction Inspector for the County.
