The Board of Supervisors of Monroe County will receive sealed bids for remodel of the existing Public Health/Community Services Building consisting of a one story building of wood frame construction totaling approximately 5,000 square feet of remodel area located at 1801 South B Street, Albia IA, 52531. Construction may begin following Owner receipt and approval of required Contracts, Bonds and Insurance. The Owner requires that Project be Substantially Complete on or before the 5 th day of February, 2024. Any Bidder, upon returning the documents in reusable condition within 14 days of the award of the Project, shall be returned the deposit in full. Bidders will be required to provide security deposit in the form of a Bid Bond, cashiers or certified check, or certified share draft of a sum not less than 5 percent of the Base Price/Sum. The bid security should be made payable to Monroe County. The bid security must not contain any conditions either in the body or as an endorsement thereon. The bid security shall be forfeited to the County as damages in the event the successful bidder fails or refuses to enter into a contract within 10 days after the award of contract and post bond satisfactory to the District insuring the faithful fulfillment of the contract and the maintenance of said work, if required, pursuant to the provisions of this notice and the other contract documents. The Board of Supervisors reserves the right to accept or reject any or all Bids, or any part thereof, and to waive informalities or irregularities allowed by law and to enter into such Contract or Contracts as may be deemed in the best interests of Monroe County. Further consideration of the Bids received and award of contract or other action may be made by the Board of Supervisors of Monroe County upon proposals received in accordance with law and plans and specifications at its meeting to be held at 9:30 AM on the 1st day of August, 2023 at 10 Benton Avenue East, Albia, IA 52531. Substantially Complete on or before the 5th day of February, 2024.
